Throttle Position Sensor

1.

Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor from the wiring harness.

2.

If reinstalling the same TP sensor, mark the position of the TP sensor by scribing a mark on the sensor and throttle body.  

3.

Remove the TP sensor retaining screws, then remove the TP sensor.

4.

Install the throttle position sensor.  Check that the rotary tangs on the sensor are aligned and that the red seal is inside the connector housing.  
CAUTION:  Slide the tangs into position over the throttle shaft blade, then rotate the TP sensor clockwise to align the scribe mark (from step 2). 
Failure to follow this procedure may result in high idle speeds.

5.

Install the TP sensor retaining screws, tightening to 30 lb. in. (3.4 N-m).

6.

Connect the TP sensor electrical connector to the harness.

NOTE:  The TP sensor is not adjustable.
