Input Shaft: Service and Repair
Clutch and Planetary Gear Assembly
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove snap ring retaining roller bearing to the shaft.
2.
Remove bearing from the shaft, then using bearing splitter tool No. D79L-4621-A or equivalent, a suitable press and step plate tool No.
D80L-630-3 or equivalent, press the shaft out of the bearing.
3.
Remove snap ring retaining drive sprocket to the shaft, then the drive sprocket.
4.
Remove snap ring retaining planetary gear assembly, then the planetary gear assembly from the shaft.
5.
Remove thrust washer from inside the planetary gear assembly.
6.
Remove input shaft from electric clutch assembly.
7.
If damaged, remove the needle bearing assembly from inside of shaft using collet puller tool No. T87T-7120-D and slide hammer tool No.
T50T-100-A or equivalents, then discard bearing.
ASSEMBLY
1.
If removed, install a new needle bearing assembly in the end of the input shaft using needle bearing installer tool No. T90T-7127-A and universal
handle tool No. T80T-4000-W or equivalents.
2.
Install input shaft into electric clutch assembly.
3.
Install thrust washer inside planetary gear assembly.
4.
Install planetary gear assembly on shaft, then install snap ring.
5.
Install drive sprocket on input shaft, then the snap ring.
6.
Press roller bearing on the input shaft using bearing installer tool No. T53T-4621-C and bearing installer plate tool No. T75L-1165-B.
7.
Install snap ring that retains roller bearing assembly on the shaft.
