Pull the latch hook rearward. Push in and turn the EZ access handle to engage the actuating tab on the drive bracket. When correctly installed, the
actuating tab fits into the fork of the EZ access handle (Figure 9).

Install the latch cover with the two retaining screws.

12.

Latch the floor mount tilt mechanism in the "seat down" position before installing the seat in the vehicle.

Ford Motor Company has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1989/90 Aerostars with Quad Bucket Seats.

Safety Defect

The right rear Quad Bucket Seat assembly may unlatch

and tilt forward under certain severe frontal crash conditions.

Problems

If this should occur, an occupant of the right rear

seat may contact the back of the right front passenger seat, even when using the seat belt.

To correct this condition, dealers are to install a newly designed E-Z Access Seat Latch.

Repairs

At no cost to you, your dealer will replace the E-Z

Access Latch on your Aerostar
