Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove screws attaching horn shroud to steering wheel, disconnect horn switch/speed control electrical connectors, then remove horn shroud.

3.

Remove steering wheel to steering shaft attaching bolt.

4.

Remove steering wheel from steering shaft using puller tool No. T67L-3600-A or suitable equivalent. Do not use a knock-off type wheel puller or
strike end of steering column shaft, as damage to shaft bearing may result.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Before installing steering wheel align mark on steering wheel with mark on steering shaft. Torque steering wheel
attaching bolt to 23 to 33 ft. lbs. After completing installation, check steering column for proper operation.

6.

On models equipped with tilt column, remove upper extension shroud by depressing top and bottom of shroud to releasing retaining plate.

7.

On all models, remove two screws attaching steering column trim shroud halves.

8.

Remove ignition lock.

9.

Grasp turn signal switch lever, then twist and pull outward to remove from switch.

10.

Remove steering column shroud.

11.

Peel back foam from turn signal switch, then disconnect switch electrical connectors.

12.

Remove turn signal switch attaching screws, then the switch.

13.

Disconnect electrical connectors from turn signal switch.

14.

Reverse procedure to install.
