ISSUE:
The outside door locks may freeze on some vehicles in ambient temperatures below 0°C (32°F) and cannot be unlocked. This may be caused by moisture
entering the lock cylinder and freezing.
ACTION:
Replace the lockset with a revised lockset. The revised lockset has been improved to reduce the possibility of water penetration into the lock cylinder.
Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Inspect the door lock cylinders for freezing.
2.
Remove the interior door panel and verify there are no other visible concerns affecting lock cylinder operation.
3.
If the lock cylinder is freezing and no other problems are found, replace the lockset following the Service Procedure outlined in the appropriate
year Aspire Service Manual, Section 01-14.
