Inspection / Repair Procedure
A.
MTX only - Rubber Fuel Supply Hose to Clutch Cable, Routing and Clearance
1.
Inspect for proper routing fuel supply hose to clutch cable (located below the brake booster). The fuel hose must be routed under the clutch
cable. See Figure 1.
If the fuel hose is properly routed, proceed to step 2 of this procedure.
If the fuel hose is improperly routed above the clutch cable;
a.
Depressurize the fuel system by disconnecting the fuel pump relay as outlined in the 1994 Aspire Shop Manual 10-01-22.
b.
Disconnect the fuel supply hose and route it below the clutch cable.
c.
Reconnect the fuel supply hose.
2.
Inspect the gap between the clutch cable and the fuel supply hose. The specified clearance is 10mm.
Adjust the rubber fuel hose to clutch cable gap by repositioning the steel fuel supply tube downward and outward to achieve the specified
clearance.
NOTE ABS CARS ONLY:
Position the fuel supply hose (just below the fuel filter inlet) between the ABS actuator and brake booster after procedure No. 1 is
completed.
