ISSUE:
In some cases, after a transaxle overhaul there may be no third gear and/or Reverse. This may be due to the air bleed plug in the servo bore coming out
of place during air checking and/or blowing out of the hydraulic passages in the transaxle case.
ACTION:
Remove the servo assembly and reinstall the air bleed plug. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

Service Procedure
1.
Drain the fluid from the transaxle.
2.
Remove the left side axle shaft following the procedures outlined in the appropriate year Aspire Service Manual, Section 05-04.
3.
Remove the transaxle fluid pan and main control assembly following the procedures outlined in the Service Manual, Section 07-01.
WARNING:
TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, WEAR EYE PROTECTION DURING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.
4.
Using a C-clamp or other suitable device, depress the servo assembly and remove the retaining ring. Refer to Figure 1.
5.
Remove the servo from the transaxle.
