Band Apply Servo: Service and Repair
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove lefthand front wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove valve body.
3. Remove stabilizer bar mounting nuts and bracket, then stabilizer support bracket bolts and bracket.
4. Remove front wheel driveshaft and joint.
Band Adjusting Stop
5. Loosen band adjusting stop and locknut, then remove band strut.
Servo Piston Spring Compression
6. Using suitable C-clamp and socket, compress servo piston, then use suitable screwdriver, remove servo piston retaining snap ring.
7. Carefully loosen C-clamp, then remove servo retainer, piston, spring and seal.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Prior to installation, lubricate servo piston with ATF.
b. Torque band adjusting stop to 9-10 ft lb, then loosen bolt three turns.
c. While holding anchor end bolt in position, torque locknut to 41-59 ft lb.
