Valve Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove front fender splash shield and front splash shield to gain access to transaxle.
3. Drain transaxle fluid, then remove oil pan attaching bolts and oil pan.

Valve Body Bolt Removal

4. Remove valve body retaining bolts, then carefully remove valve. Be careful not to loose vacuum diaphragm rod or ball and spring for converter

relief valve.

INSTALLATION

Rod, Check Ball & Spring

1. Install vacuum diaphragm rod into hole in case, then install ball and spring into slotted hole in transaxle case. Insert ball first, then spring. Use

petroleum jelly to hold ball and spring in position.
