Refer to Exhibit I. Remove the bumper ball hitch, if the truck is so equipped. Look at the underside of the bumper at the ball hitch hole area.

Refer to Exhibit I, Figure A. If the metal of the bumper ball hitch tube is formed into the hole, and there are no welds, the bumper is OK and the
truck can be returned to the owner.

Refer to Exhibit I, Figure B. If there is a sleeve projecting from the hole and it is welded to the bottom surface of the bumper, the bumper needs to
be reinforced or replaced. Proceed to the secondstage inspection.
