Remove existing air cleaner cover assembly and replace with new cover assembly (E6TZ- 9661-A).

1986 Application:

Remove existing connector assembly - emission vacuum control harness and replace with new connector assembly - emission vacuum control
harness (E6TZ- 9E498-A). From the old emission vacuum control harness remove the black MAP tube (large diameter 1/4" O.D. black nylon
tubing). Take the MAP tube and replace the rubber hose that attaches to the manifold vacuum fitting with U-shape rubber hose
(E3TZ-12226-A) (longer side of hose attaches to MAP tube). Set MAP tube in position and tape to new vacuum control harness and make
connection, Figure 47.

1987 Application:

Remove existing connector assembly - emission vacuum control harness and replace with new connector assembly - emission vacuum control
harness (E6TZ- 9E498-A).

Connect vacuum hose from tube and duct air intake assembly (E6TZ-9A624-B) to temperature sensor in air cleaner assembly, Figure 46.

9.

Check all vacuum hose connections and routings to make sure they are secure and there are no obstructions.

10.

Reinstall battery.
