Pressure Plate: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect clutch hydraulic system master cylinder from clutch pedal and remove.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove hydraulic hose to slave cylinder retaining clip, then disconnect hose from slave cylinder. Clean area around hose and slave cylinder to

prevent fluid contamination.

4. Remove starter motor from engine.
5. Remove clutch housing to engine block attaching bolts. Note direction in which the bolts are installed.
6. Mark driveshaft and companion flange for installation, then remove driveshaft.

7. Remove nuts attaching transmission and insulator to No. 2 crossmember support.
8. Raise transmission slightly, then remove No. 2 crossmember support.
