Bronco II 2WD V6-177 2.9L (1986)
a. Remove differential pinion shaft lock bolt and the shaft.
b. Push axle shafts inward toward center of vehicle and remove C-lockwashers from shafts, Fig. 4.
c. Carefully slide axle shafts out of housing.

Remove seal and bearing using a suitable hook-type puller.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable grease between lips of axle shaft seal.
b. Install seal and bearing using tool No. T78P-1225-A or equivalent.
c. Torque pinion shaft lock bolt to 15---22 ft. lbs.
d. Torque differential housing cover bolts to 25---35 ft. lbs., except the ratio tag bolt which is torqued to 15---24 ft. lbs.
