LIGHT TRUCK:
1985-88 BRONCO II
ISSUE:
A "ratcheting" or "clanking" noise from the driveline while the vehicle is in reverse under a light-to-moderate load may be caused by the
driveshaft assembly. A "clicking" noise from the driveline while in the forward gears may also be present. The affected units are 1988 Bronco
II 4 x 2 and 1985-88 Bronco II 4 x 4 vehicles built before 09/08/87.
ACTION:
To correct this, install a new design driveshaft. Install the driveshaft with the orange paint dot and blue part number tag toward the
transmission. Refer to the appropriate Ranger/Bronco II Shop Manual, Section 15-60 for detailed service procedures. Refer to the driveshaft
application chart on page 43 of this TSB for the correct service part.
