Electric Assist Choke: Testing and Inspection
Continuity of All Other Circuit Components
1. Connect one lead of a DC voltmeter to the negative terminal of the battery and the positive lead to the choke cap terminal. Make sure any air
cleaner temperature sensors are still connected.
2. Start the engine, the voltmeter should either:

Pulse from 0.0 Volts to approximately 14 Volts DC or,
^
Indicate approximately 14.0 Volts DC continuously depending on engine temperature (ECT must be above 8°F to indicate voltage pulse from
0.0 Volts to 14 Volts DC on automatic truck).
3. If no voltage is present, refer to EEC-IV diagnostic procedure.
