From underneath vehicle, disconnect brake booster vacuum line from bottom of intake manifold by pressing the release ring toward the intake
manifold.See Figure 32.

Lower vehicle.

Remove intake manifold as follows:

Remove left side nut and stud from intake manifold. On some vehicles the stud will not have enough clearance to be removed from the intake
manifold.On these vehicles, unscrew stud from the cylinder head.

Remove eight (8) remaining intake manifold retaining bolts.
^
Remove intake manifold from vehicle.

Clean gasket surface on cylinder head, being careful not to allow material to fall into cylinder head.

Remove EGR tube from intake manifold.
33.
Remove fuel line bracket from intake manifold.
Installation
1.
Place new intake manifold from kit upside down on clean workbench.
