Heater Blower Switch, Resistor and Connector Replacement
AFFECTED VEHICLES:
CERTAIN 1995-1998 MODEL YEAR CONTOUR/MYSTIQUE BUILT FROM JULY 1, 1995 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1997
OVERVIEW
When performing this service procedure, you will:
^
replace the existing blower switch wire harness connector with a redesigned connector
^
replace the existing blower switch
^
replace the existing blower resistor wire harness connector with a redesigned connector
^
replace the existing blower resistor
^
verify the repair
Heater Blower Switch Replacement
1.
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force when installing the Radio Removing Tool. This may damage the retaining clips, making radio chassis removal
difficult.
^
Remove the radio.
^
Record the radio stations.
^
Install the Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A into the radio face plate.
^
Push the tool in approximately 25.4 mm (1 inch) to release the retaining clips.
^
Apply a slight spreading force on the tool and pull the radio out.
^
Disconnect the radio connectors.
