Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
3. Disconnect HO2S wiring lead from retainer on the fan shroud .
4. Remove HO2S from exhaust manifold using Oxygen Sensor Wrench T94P-9472-A.
5. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten heated oxygen sensor to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).
