Overdrive Switch: Description and Operation
A transmission control switch in the shift knob operates as follows:

The system automatically engages the overdrive (O/D) mode each time the ignition switch is turned to RUN.

Pressing the transmission control switch (TCS) with the ignition switch in RUN locks out the overdrive mode and illuminates the OVERDRIVE
OFF lamp.

Pressing the TCS again reverts to the (O/D) mode.
