Air Cleaner Element: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamp at air cleaner outlet tube to mass air flow sensor and remove air cleaner outlet tube from mass air flow
sensor.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from mass air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor.
3. Release the retaining clips and remove air cleaner cover.
4. Remove air cleaner element.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean all inside surfaces of engine air cleaner.
2. Install the air cleaner element. Check the element seal to ensure that it is fully seated in the groove.
3. Install air cleaner cover. Fasten retaining clips.
4. Connect engine control sensor wiring to mass air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor.
5. Install air cleaner outlet tube. Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamp to 3-5 Nm (27-44 lb in).
