Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove console finish panel.
2. Remove four transmission control selector dial bezel screws and move bezel aside.

Interlock Cable Locknut

3. Loosen interlock cable locknut, then remove cable from selector lever and housing.
4. Pull shift cable return clip from brake pedal, then remove lower side dash panel and steering column shrouds.

Control Selector Cable Bracket And Screw

5. Remove control selector cable bracket and screw from bottom of steering column, then slide interlock cable off ignition switch lock cylinder.
6. Remove interlock cable from vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

1. Reverse procedure to install.
2. Tighten control selector cable bracket screw, interlock cable locknut, and transmission control selector dial bezel screws.
