Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair
With Manual Transmission
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove brake booster push rod retainer nut.
3. Remove clutch master cylinder push rod retainer nut.
4. Remove spring clip from brake pedal support rod.
5. Push brake pedal support rod to the left. Remove brake pedal.
6. Disconnect stoplight switch and speed control/traction assist cancel switches (if equipped).
7. Remove six mounting bolts. Remove brake pedal bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Position bracket in vehicle.
2. Install six brake pedal bracket to floor pan mounting bolts. Tighten bolts to 16-30 Nm (12-22 ft. lbs.).
3. Position clutch pedal into bracket. Carefully engage clutch cylinder push rod. Install brake pedal support rod into bracket and clutch pedal.
4. Position brake pedal into bracket. Carefully engage brake booster push rod.
5. Install brake pedal support rod into bracket and brake pedal.
6. Install spring clip.
7. Install brake pedal and clutch pedal retaining nuts.
8. Connect stoplight switch, speed control/traction control cancel switches (if equipped).
9. Connect battery ground cable.
