A/C Suction Hose/Line
SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S) REQUIRED
Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool (3/4 Inch) .............................................................................................................................. T81P-19623-A
Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool (5/8 Inch) .............................................................................................................................. T81P-19623-C
REMOVAL
1. From inside vehicle, pull hood lock release handle to release hood.
2. Lift hood and support with hood support rod.
3. Recover refrigerant from A/C system. Observe all safety precautions. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Refrigerant
Recovery
4. Disconnect evaporator to compressor suction line using Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool T85L-19623-A or equivalent from the jumper
line. Cap the evaporator to compressor suction line and jumper line to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.
5. Remove retaining bolt from A/C hose clamp at transaxle mount.
6. Raise vehicle.
7. Remove radiator air deflector.
8. Remove nut retaining A/C hose clamps to front fender apron.
9. Disconnect evaporator to compressor suction line using Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool T83P-19623-C or equivalent at the suction
accumulator/drier. Cap the evaporator to compressor suction line and suction accumulator/drier to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.
10. Remove evaporator to compressor suction line from vehicle.
11. Remove two A/C hose clamps from evaporator to compressor suction line.
INSTALLATION
1. Route new evaporator to compressor suction line with protective caps installed.
2. Remove protective caps and connect new evaporator to compressor suction line into system using new O-ring seals lubricated with clean
Motorcraft YN-12b refrigerant oil or equivalent meeting Ford Specification WSH-M1C231-B. Connect spring lock coupling.
3. Install two A/C hose clamps with retaining screws.
4. Install radiator air deflector.
5. Leak-test, evacuate and charge the system. Observe all safety precautions. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair
