Fan Blade: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange). If this contamination occurs the service change interval on
Extended Life Coolant will be reduced from 6 years/150,000 miles to 3 years/30,000 miles.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STRAIGHTEN OR SERVICE FAN BLADE. REPLACE FAN BLADE IF HUB OR BLADES ARE
DAMAGED.
1. Disconnect (pull apart) the cooling fan motor wiring connector at the side of the fan shroud.
2. Remove fan shroud.
3. Remove retaining screws, cooling fan motor and fan blade from fan shroud.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten cooling fan motor and fan blade retaining screws to 3-6 Nm (27-53 inch lbs.).
3. Tighten fan shroud retaining screws to 3-5 Nm (27-44 inch lbs.).
4. Tighten fan clutch shaft to the water pump pulley hub to 50-62 Nm (37-45 ft. lbs.).
