Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain engine cooling system and remove the fan motor.
3. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Relieve fuel system pressure and disconnect fuel lines.
5. Remove windshield wiper governor.
6. Release drive belt tensioner and remove drive belt
7. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
Gasoline Engine
8. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor) and A/C clutch.
9. Remove oil bypass filter.
10. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from oil pressure sensor, oil filter adapter bracket and power steering pump and move fuel charging wiring out of
the way.
11. Disconnect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube from RH exhaust manifold.
12. Disconnect EGR back pressure transducer hoses from EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube.
