Fuel Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair
WARNING:

EYE PROTECTION IS REQUIRED TO BE WORN DURING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF FUEL SYSTEM
COMPONENTS.

FUEL SUPPLY TUBES ARE ALWAYS PRESSURIZED. WHEN SERVICING FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS DO NOT SMOKE,
CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR AN OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE. FLAMMABLE MIXTURES MAY BE PRESENT AND
IGNITE, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Perform Fuel Charging System Pre-Service and Fuel Pressure Release procedures.
2. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from fuel injection supply manifold temperature sensor.
3. Inspect O-ring seal, replace if necessary. Lubricate O-ring seal with engine oil XO-10W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS
-M2C153-G.
4. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold temperature sensors from fuel injection supply manifold using a backup wrench.
5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply light coating of engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G to sensor O-rings. Thread
fuel injection supply manifold temperature sensors in by hand. Tighten sensors to 22-28 Nm (17-20 lb-ft).
6. Perform Fuel Charging System, Post-Service procedures.
