5. Use Hi-Lift Jack 014-00942 or equivalent to support the rear axle.
6. If equipped, release the air pressure from the air springs.
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE AN AIR SPRING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN THERE IS AIR PRESSURE IN THE
AIR SPRING. DO NOT REMOVE ANY COMPONENTS SUPPORTING AN AIR SPRING WITHOUT EXHAUSTING THE AIR.
7. Remove and discard the rear suspension lower arm pivot bolt and nut from the axle bracket.
NOTE: If both rear suspension upper arms and both rear suspension lower arms are to be replaced at the same time, remove both rear air springs.
8. Remove and discard the rear suspension lower arm pivot bolt and nut from the frame bracket. Remove the rear suspension lower arm.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the rear suspension lower arm to the frame bracket and install a new pivot bolt and nut. Insert the bolt so the nut faces inboard. Do not
tighten at this time.
NOTE:
-
The rear suspension lower arm bolts must be tightened with the vehicle at curb height.

The rear suspension lower arms are interchangeable from side-to-side with "OUTBOARD" stamped on the side of the arm for positioning
during installation.
2. Position the rear suspension lower arm to the axle bracket and install a new pivot bolt and nut. Insert the bolt so the nut faces outboard. Do not
tighten at this time.
3. Raise the axle assembly to the position that compresses the shock absorber to the previously established alignment mark (curb height).
4. Tighten the rear suspension lower arm to the frame bracket pivot bolt to 128-172 Nm (95-127 ft. lbs.).
5. Tighten the rear suspension lower arm to the axle bracket pivot bolt to 128-172 Nm (95-127 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove Hi-Lift Jack 014-0942 or equivalent.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. If equipped, turn the air suspension service switch, located in the luggage compartment, ON.
