Fluid - A/T: Service Precautions

NOTE:  Do NOT use ANY non-approved automatic transmission fluid for an application specifying MERCON V OR MERCON Automatic
Transmission Fluid. Use of a non-approved automatic transmission fluid may cause internal transmission component damage.

Care must be taken to use the correct fluid for the specific application. Be sure to check the container label to insure the fluid is approved for
MERCON V or MERCON (R). If the label says approved for MERCON V, or says approved for both MERCON and MERCON V, it is appropriate
for these applications. If the label says approved for both MERCON and MERCON V, it is also appropriate to use in those applications specifying a
MERCON (R)-type fluid. Do NOT use a fluid for a MERCON application that only meets MERCON V specifications, and vice versa. Check the
transmission dipstick to determine the correct fluid and refer to the Service/ Owner publication to determine the correct service interval for the specific
vehicle.
