Service Action
INSPECTION
Before performing any paint repair dealers will verify the paint peeling concern and submit digital photographs utilizing Digital Imaging (DI) Approval
for repairs will be communicated with a phone call from the CVPI Approval Team.
The photographs that will be required by the CVPI Approval Team are:

Close up shot of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Two 3/4 shots of the entire vehicle one from the front and one from the rear that will show the paint scheme and number of decals that may be
involved in a repair.
Close-up shots of all affected areas that verify the paint is peeling.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Once prior approval from the CVPI Approval Team has been granted strip the original basecoat/clearcoat break the surface of the affected e-coat finish
with sand paper and refinish the following Performance White or Vibrant White areas of the vehicle.

Hood.
^
Roof.
^
Decklid.
^
C-pillar.
Note:
Two-toned vehicles may not require the refinishing of all of these areas. Refinish the Performance White and Vibrant White areas only.
Prior approval from the CVPI Approval Team will be required to refinish other areas of the vehicle.
This repair will involve the removal of the original Performance White and Vibrant White paint basecoat/clearcoat to the original e-coat preparation of
the substrate and the application of the basecoat/clearcoat to finalize the repair.
Initial preparation through the final finish of the surface areas should follow conventional body repair guidelines including, but not limited to the
following:
1. Detrim of the repair panels as required, including moldings, graphics, and lights/auxiliary equipment.
2. Stationary glass should NOT be removed. Use 3M Trim Masking Tape(TM), # 06342 or equivalent to lift the window molding from the repair
surface(s) to allow proper preparation and paint application.
3. DA sand the affected repair areas to the factory e-coat. All original white basecoat and clearcoat should be fully removed.
4. Rear quarter panels will be refinished to maintain clearcoat quality only if the C-pillar and rear quarter panels are all white with no opportunity to
hardline mask a portion of the panel.

On two-tone units with white C-pillars and non-white quarter panels, hardline mask the alternate color on the rear quarter panel to avoid damage.
The alternate color on the quarter panel will not require refinishing.
