This article supersedes TSB 05-22-14 to update vehicle lines.
ISSUE
Some 2005-2006 Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis vehicles built from 12/6/2004 to 12/13/2005 may exhibit the driver's side lower seat cushion
sagging.
ACTION
Replace the driver's side lower seat woven support with a new seat cushion shield, steel seat cushion support and springs. Refer to the following Service
Procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
WARNING
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN REPAIRING AN AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) VEHICLE AND
WHEN HANDLING AN AIR BAG MODULE. THIS WILL REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENTAL
DEPLOYMENT.
1.
Remove the driver's seat per the Workshop Manual, Section 501-10.
2.
Position the seat on it side with the seat belt buckle facing down.
3.
If equipped, remove the power lumbar switch bezel, disconnect the electrical connector and set the switch aside.
NOTE
TAKE CARE WHEN REMOVING THE POWER LUMBAR BEZEL. DEPRESS THE BEZEL TABS FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SEAT
FRAME. REFER TO FIGURE 1.
