6-300 ECONOLINE
1.
Remove engine cover, air cleaner and carburetor. On EFI Models, remove air cleaner, then disconnect air inlet tubes from throttle body.
2.
On vehicles equipped with air conditioning, discharge refrigerant system, then remove compressor.
3.
Remove EGR valve if equipped, then on E---250-HD and E---350 models disconnect thermactor check valve inlet hose and remove check valve.
4.
Remove upper radiator hose, fan shroud and automatic transmission filler tube.
5.
Remove nuts securing exhaust pipe to manifold.
6.
Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect and plug fuel pump inlet hose. Remove alternator heat shield from engine support nuts.
7.
Remove power steering return line clip from crossmember, then disconnect lower radiator hose and transmission cooler lines.
8.
Remove starter, then raise engine and place 3 inch blocks under engine mounts. Remove oil pan dipstick tube from pan.
9.
Remove oil pan bolts, then the pickup screen and tube from oil pump. Remove the pan.
10.
Reverse procedure to install, Figs. 40 and 41.
