Brake Adjuster Screw Assembly
9. Install the brake adjuster screw assembly.
a. Position the brake adjuster screw assembly.
b. Install the brake shoe adjusting screw spring.
c. Position the brake shoe adjusting lever cable.
d. Install the cable guide.
e. Position the (A) adjusting lever return spring and the (B) brake shoe adjusting lever.
f.
Hook the brake shoe adjusting lever cable to the brake shoe adjusting lever.
Self Adjuster Test
10. Test the operation of the automatic self-adjuster.
a. Pull the (A) brake shoe adjusting lever cable and check that the (B) brake shoe adjusting lever rotates the (C) brake shoe adjuster assembly.
b. Release the brake shoe adjusting lever cable and check that the brake shoe adjusting lever advances to the next notch on the (D) brake shoe
adjusting screw nut.
11. Adjust the brakes. See: Adjustments
12. Install the brake drum.
NOTE: The brake drum spring nut is not required for installation.
13. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
