Brake Master Cylinder: Testing and Inspection
WARNING: USe of other than the approved dot 3 brake fluid will cause permanent damage to the brake components and will render the
brakes inoperative.
NOTE: If a vehicle with a locked wheel must be moved, loosen the bleeder screw to relieve pressure. Always check brake fluid level and, if necessary,
fill with Ford High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AA or equivalent DOT 3 fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A.
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the brake lines at the brake master cylinder.
2. Plug the outlet ports of the brake master cylinder.
3. Apply the brakes. If brake pedal height cannot be maintained, the brake master cylinder has an internal leak and must be rebuilt or replaced.
