Connecting Rod Bearing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove the cylinder heads.
CAUTION: The cylinder heads must be removed prior to removal of the oil baffle assembly. Failure to observe this caution can result in severe
engine damage.
2. Remove the oil pan.
3. Remove the oil pump screen cover and tube.
4. Remove the oil baffle assembly.
5. Remove the connecting rod cap. Rotate the crankshaft, as required, to access the rod caps. Check the bearing clearances.
