Control Assembly: Service and Repair
Temperature Control Switch
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE INJURY, THE AIR BAG SYSTEM BACKUP POWER
SUPPLY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE SERVICING ANY CLIMATE CONTROL COMPONENTS. TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP
POWER SUPPLY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY-TO-STARTER CABLE AND WAIT ONE MINUTE.
2. Move the control assembly.
3. Remove the temperature control switch knob.
4. Disconnect the temperature control switch connector.
5. Remove the temperature control switch.
a. Remove the screw.
b. Remove the temperature control switch.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
