Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the stoplight switch electrical connector.
3. Remove the stoplight switch.
1. Remove the self-locking pin.
2. Remove the brake master cylinder push rod spacer.
3. Remove the stoplight switch from the brake master cylinder push rod.
4. Remove the brake master cylinder push rod bushing.
5. Remove the brake master cylinder push rod spacer.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
