Wheel Bearing: Adjustments
1. Raise and support the vehicle so the tires are off the floor.
2. Rotate the tire to check bearing tightness.
3. Using the Radial Runout Gauge, check bearing play by pushing and pulling the tire while lifting the weight of the tire off the front wheel bearings.

If the wheel will not rotate freely, or in-and-out movement equals or exceeds the specification, proceed with the bearing adjustment.
4. Remove the wheel ornament or wheel cover.
5. Remove the grease cap, cotter pin and nut retainer. Discard the cotter pin.
6. Obtain running clearance through the disc brake caliper so that the wheel turns freely, without brake drag.
(1) Loosen the spindle nut three turns.
(2) Rock the wheel in and out to press the caliper pistons into the caliper bores.
CAUTION: To avoid damage, do not pry on caliper pistons.
