X 6.75 inch wheels. Our records indicate that you own one of the vehicles involved in this recall, which is identified by serial number on the enclosed
Form 1864.
DESCRIPTION OF DEFECT:
Some of the wheels on the subject vehicles may contain substandard welds. With vehicle use, cracks beginning at a substandard weld might occur in the
wheel. Such cracks could cause loss of tire air pressure or separation of the rim and tire from the vehicle creating the potential for loss of vehicle control
and a vehicle crash.
The driver may be forewarned by wheel wobble or vibration prior to complete separation of a rim and tire assembly.
SERVICE TO BE PERFORMED:
To correct this condition, Ford dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace any suspect wheel on your vehicle -- at no cost to you.
TO HAVE THIS SERVICE PERFORMED:

Contact a Ford Dealer promptly for an appointment to have the recall service performed. The time needed to perform the inspection and make any
repairs, if necessary, can range from less than one-half hour to several hours. An appointment with the dealer may reduce the total time you must
wait for service. If the dealer has to replace the wheels and does not
have any in stock, he can order new wheels on a rush basis.

Present the enclosed Form 1864 to your dealership when you bring the vehicle in to have the recall service performed. After repairing your
vehicle, the dealer will return the form to us verifying that the required service has been performed. If you lose the Form 1864, the dealer will still
repair your vehicle at no charge to you.
IF YOU NO LONGER OWN THE VEHICLE:
Please remove the postage prepaid card from the Form 1864 complete Section 1 and return it to us if you have sold the vehicle. Your input is needed to
update our records.
IF THE DEALER FAILS TO DO THE REPAIR ON A TIMELY BASIS AND WITHOUT CHARGE:
Please complete Section 3 of the postcard and mail it to us if you have difficulties in getting this recall service performed. If you still cannot get this
recall done promptly and without charge, you may wish to report that fact to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
Washington, D.C. 20590. Or, you may call the toll-free Auto Safety Hotline at 800-424-9393.
