The subject vehicles may experience a buzz/moan sound from the engine compartments that is audible from within the passenger compartment.

NOTE:
Buzzing can be easily identified by gently resting fingers on valves while the customer or an assistant operates the throttle through the
sensitive RPM ranges. Valves will vibrate very noticeably under finger touch when buzzing (Figure 56).
NOTE:
Take adequate precautions: Put the vehicle in Park. Fully apply parking brake, watch out for moving belts, alternator, and cooling fan
blades.

Verify customer concern.
2.
Remove and discard the valves. Replace with valves reflecting the same part numbers.
NOTE:
Ensure that the replacement valves were manufactured after 12/4/84. The build date code is stamped on the bottom of the valve. The first
character denotes day, the second and third denote month and the fourth and fifth denote year.
3.
After the valves have been installed, ensure that their orientation is the same as that of the original valves.
