CALIBRATIONS: All over 8500 GVW - 49 States only
Changes are for sea level units being taken to altitudes above 4000 ft.
Service modifications have been developed for converting sea level calibrated engines to altitude (4000 ft.) for vehicles which operates primarily in
altitude areas:
1.
Remove and retain PCV valve (Part No. D8TE- 6B890-BA) and replace with PCV valve (Part No. D7AZ-6A666-A).
2.
Remove the choke plate lever and re-position the choke plate rod to altitude ("alt") setting. (Refer to pertinent Truck Shop Manual for procedure.)
3.
Install a Ford Authorized Modifications decal denoting the above changes.
NOTE:
If the vehicle is returned to continuous sea level (below 4000 ft. alt.) operation, the Vehicle Emission Control Information Update Label
should be removed and the above procedure should be reversed.
