All front retractors
1. NOTE: Inspect the D-ring cover for damage. If damaged or does not remain closed, install a new safety belt retractor. The cover is not
serviceable separately.
Open the D-ring cover.
2. Remove the nut and D-ring.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
3. Remove the front door opening scuff plate.
Driver side retractor
4. Remove the bolt and safety belt anchor.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
5. Remove the LH quarter trim finish panel, rear upper quarter trim panel (if equipped), rear lower quarter trim panel (if equipped), front upper
quarter trim panel and front lower quarter trim panel.
Passenger side retractor
6. Remove the door seal around the B-pillar trim panels.
7. Release the 3 retainers and remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.
8. Remove the pin-type retainer and lower B-pillar trim panel.
9. Remove the bolt and safety belt anchor.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
All front retractors
10. Remove the bolt and safety belt retractor.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
11. NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
12. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
