Crankshaft: Description and Operation
The crankshaft is supported on the bottom of the cylinder block by five steel-backed, overplated aluminum crankshaft main bearings. It also
connects with the camshafts by two sprockets and two timing chain/belts. The rear crankshaft thrust washer limits crankshaft end play and absorbs thrust
loads applied to the crankshaft ends.
