DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL MOUNTING SYSTEM AND COULD RESULT IN WHEELS COMING LOOSE IN OPERATION. TO
INHIBIT INADVERTENT USAGE OR INTERMIXED PARTS, A PIN HAS BEEN ADDED TO ALL NEW MODEL WHEEL TO
MATE AGAINST A CORRESPONDING HOLE IN THE HUB (Figure 22). ANOTHER PIN IS ALSO RELEASED IN THE FRONT
HUB SIMILAR TO THE PIN ON THE FRONT HUB TO MATE WITH THE CORRESPONDING HOLE IN THE WHEEL (Figure
21). THESE PINS ARE INTENDED TO HELP PRECLUDE USAGE OF PAST MODEL WHEELS ON NEW MODEL VEHICLES
OR NEW MODEL WHEELS ON PAST MODEL VEHICLES.

REMINDER:

Lug nuts must be retightened to proper torque specifications at 500 miles (800 km) of new vehicle operation (100 miles/160 km and 500
miles/800 km for new vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels or optional snow plow preparation package), and at the intervals in the
Vehicle Maintenance Section of the Owner's Guide. Nuts, also must be retightened to proper torque specifications at 500 miles (800 km)
after any wheel change or any other time the lug nuts have been loosened. Improperly tightened wheel nuts could allow the wheel to
come off while vehicle is in motion, causing loss of control.

NOTE:

In order to balance the new wheels, most offcar wheel balancers will require a new adaptor. Adaptors are currently being developed by
Rotunda. At the completion of the adaptor design and release, the availablity of these adaptors will be published in a TSB.
