ISSUE
Some 2005-2010 E-Series Cutaway vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine, shuttle bus applications, may exhibit a lack of engine RPM, hesitation and
rough running concerns at or near idle with or without diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0505, P0506. These concerns may be due to aftermarket
generator installations and/or Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) modifications to production level vehicles.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
This article only applies to modified production vehicles.
Vehicles Built On Or After 3/8/2010.
1. If unable to re-package the generator to maintain 6" (150 mm) minimum clearance from the throttle position (TP) sensor, replace the TP sensor.
Refer to the instruction sheet included in the kit.
Vehicles Built On Or Before 3/7/2010.
2. Some units may exhibit the above conditions if the throttle body has been replaced. If unable to re-package the generator to maintain 6" (150 mm)
minimum clearance from the TP sensor, replace the TP sensor. Refer to the instruction sheet included in the kit.
