E 350 V8-5.4L (2008)
Remove the bolt and detach the steering column shaft from the gear.

To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) (commercial chassis).
^
To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) (non-commercial chassis).
4. Disconnect the pressure and return line fittings from the steering gear.

Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
^
To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
5. Remove the drag link-to-sector shaft arm cotter pin, nut retainer and nut.

Discard the cotter pin.
^
To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
6. Using the special tool, separate the sector shaft arm from the drag link.
7. Remove the 3 steering gear bolts and the gear.

To install, tighten to 165 Nm (122 lb-ft).
8. Secure the steering gear in a vise and remove the sector shaft arm nut and lock washer.
^
To install, tighten to 275 Nm (203 lb-ft).
9. Using the special tool, remove the steering gear sector shaft arm.
10. NOTE: When connecting pressure and return line fittings with O-ring seals, new seals must be installed.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Install new O-ring seals on the pressure and return line fittings.
^
Fill the power steering system.
