Blower Motor Switch: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
NOTE: This is a typical procedure for both of the heater blower motor switches located on the climate control assembly.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE INJURY, THE AIR BAG SYSTEM BACKUP POWER
SUPPLY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE SERVICING ANY CLIMATE CONTROL COMPONENTS. TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP
POWER SUPPLY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY-TO-STARTER CABLE AND WAIT ONE MINUTE.
2. Move the control assembly.
3. Remove the heater blower motor switch knob.
4. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch connector.
5. Remove the heater blower motor switch.
a. Remove the screw.
b. Remove the heater blower motor switch.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
