Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair
Air Bleeding
1. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM) relay to disable the vehicle.
2. Fill the power steering pump reservoir.

Use WSA-M2C195-A or MERCON M931264 EC type fluid.
3. Crank the engine with the starter motor and add fluid until the level remains constant.
NOTE: The starter should not be operated for more than 10-15 seconds at a time.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
NOTE: Front wheels must be off the floor during lock-to-lock rotation of the steering wheel.
5. While cranking the engine, rotate the steering wheel from lock to lock.
CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel against the stops for an extended period of time. Damage to the pump can occur.
6. Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
7. Install the PCM relay.
8. Start the engine and allow it to run for several minutes.
9. Rotate the steering wheel from lock to lock.
10. Turn off the engine and check the fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.
11. Lower the vehicle.
