Drive/Propeller Shaft: Testing and Inspection
DRIVELINE VIBRATION
1. Road test the vehicle to determine the critical vibration points. Note the road speed, engine rpm and shift lever positions at which the vibration
occurs.
2. Stop the vehicle and run the engine (with the automatic transmission in neutral) through the critical speed ranges determined in Step 1.
3. With the automatic transmission in neutral, all potential engine and transmission concerns are eliminated. If the vibration persists, the driveline
must be balanced.
