Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
Fuel Filter
REMOVAL
1.
Shut engine off. De-pressurize fuel system. Use caution to prevent combustion from fuel spillage.
2.
Raise vehicle on hoist.
3.
Loosen screw clamp so that filter slides rearward easily.
4.
Remove push connect fittings at both ends of the filter. Install new retainer clips in each push connect fitting.
5.
Remove fuel filter from metal bracket by rotating the fuel line, being careful not to kink the fuel line, and sliding the filter rearward.

INSTALLATION
1.
Place filter into the bracket with flow arrow pointing toward tab of the bracket. Slide filter forward until it rests against tab of the bracket.
2.
Tighten retaining screw of the screw clamp to 1.3-2.1 ft. lb.
3.
Install push-connect fittings onto filter ends.
4.
Turn ignition switch from RUN/OFF position several times, without starting engine. Check for fuel leaks.
5.
Lower vehicle.
