1. Disconnect negative battery cable, then remove steering wheel.
2. Remove instrument cluster as follows:
a. Remove instrument cluster to instrument panel retaining screws.
b. Pull cluster rearward, then disconnect speedometer cable. It may be necessary to disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission.
c. Disconnect harness connector plug from printed circuit and remove cluster assembly.
3. Remove heater and A/C control panel.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors, then remove cigar lighter, radio and instrument panel mounted speakers, Fig. 13, if equipped.
5. Remove instrument pad to instrument panel nuts, then the pad, Fig. 14.
6. Remove steering column cover and instrument panel upper molding.
7. Remove instrument panel to brake and clutch pedal support attaching screws and washers.
8. Remove screw and washer attaching instrument panel to lower support bracket.
9. While supporting the instrument panel, remove two side attaching screws and washers, then the instrument panel.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
